Engaging in some physical activities is a great way to care for your body. Indulging yourself in some stretching exercises or yoga in the early morning will help you feel positive and energetic for the rest of the day. You can practice any kind of preferred physical activity as long as you’re moving your body and activating your muscles. If you don’t know how to start, here’s an easy stretch starter video for beginners!

Morning Self-care Routine #2: Shower

Not everyone has enough time for a long morning shower… but if you do, it’s worth having one! Treat yourself to a nice refreshing bath. However, if you struggle to wake up at 5 am, you can still grab a quick shower.

Morning Self-care Routine #3: Listen to your Favorite Podcast

A lot of people enjoy their morning radio station or podcast. Nowadays, it’s less common to take our time and do this while driving from home to work or school. It’s very hard to focus on driving your car and listening to your favorite podcast at the same time! Therefore, it’s better to grab yourself a cup of coffee or tea and chill out on your kitchen chair or sofa enjoying every second of the podcast stress-free.

Morning Self-care Routine #4: Keep your Phone Away

Looking at your phone the moment you wake up is a one-way ticket to strained eyes. Phones can redirect your attention to other things such as social media, cat videos, etc. and thus you run out of time and miss on your priorities. Morning hours are the most productive time of your day. So it’s really important to use them wisely for what really matters! You can always check your phone during breakfast or on your bus/metro ride.

Morning Self-care Routine #5: Practice a Hobby

Sometimes, it’s really hard to find time for what we really love. Sure! we need to work to bring bread to the table and therefore, we never have time to practice our hobbies. Mornings are the perfect opportunity to do what we are passionate about. For example, I personally love to write my self-care articles early in the morning because it’s the time I am most productive and free. Even if you don’t manage to finish that painting you started or that book you read, having these 30 minutes to yourself is better than none at all!

Morning Self-care Routine #6: Have a Drink

What better way to care for yourself than to have a nice drink in the morning? Have a healthy beverage the moment you get out of bed, be it coffee, herbal tea, milk, fresh orange juice, lemon water, or just water. Each of these drinks will bring you a different set of benefits but they will definitely boost your energy and help you kickstart your day!

Morning Self-care Routine #7: Wash your Face

Washing your face in the morning is very important even if you previously did this before going to bed. Believe it or not, your skin can accumulate dead skin cells and allergens in your sleep. Washing your face will not only eliminate dirt but also eliminates skin-producing oils and irritants. It also makes you feel clean and refreshed. Don’t forget to apply your skin-care cream and wear some perfume for a great morning feeling!
